Personal Projects
Throughout my education, my personal sewing projects are what truly carried me throughout the hustle and grind of school. I attended different events and made my clothing for many of them. These projects gave me happiness between school assignments. They allowed me to stay creative while aiding me with sewing projects required for classes.
Bridgerton Regency Ball Attire
I attended the Bridgerton Ball in San Francisco in 2022 and designed my dress for the ball. The dress was designed, patterned, and constructed by myself for the event. This was my first historically inspired dress, made of embroidered tulle and champagne crepe back satin, and was completed with pleating in the back to add fullness and delicate buttons in the back.
Satin Celestial Wedding Guest Dress
Worn for multiple weddings, I made one of the most dreamy dresses I've ever worn. Inspired by the classic 1950s silhouette, I wanted a dress with pastel celestial tulle and paired it with an elegant satin. The tulle for the bust was draped and gathered and placed over the satin. A romantic neckline and a deep back finished with a lace up back. And of course finished with a horsehair hem and hidden pockets.
Celestial Wedding Top for Rowan
My friend Rowan commissioned me for an elegant top for their wedding dinner rehearsal. He asked me for a shirt inspired by the hit book series, A Court of Thornes and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. Together, we designed a dreamy midnight top with golden star buttons and delicate trims. Featuring mesh raglan sleeves, a cropped hem, bell sleeves, and embroidered layered wings placed on the shoulders.
Howl's Moving Castle Cloak
Pictured is one of my first commissions and my most popular. The popular Studio Ghibli film, Howl's Moving Castle, inspires many young cosplayers worldwide. I started taking commissions for Howl cloaks back in January 2022. My love for the geometry and repetitive textile building process drew me to create my first Howl cloak and my devotion to creating high quality cosplays for the cosplay community.
Selkie Inspired Holiday Dress
Made of emerald green organza, this dress was inspired by the Selkie Puff dress. I added romantic shoulder ties, a bubble hem, and an empire waist.
Reversible Renaissance Corset
Made without boning (purposefully for travelling), this corset was inspired by my favorite renaissance styles. The inside is also a fashion fabric similar to the pink side, but pale green instead. Finished with bias tape and mint satin ribbon lacings.
